Stolen 'Donuts' = 30 Years
Even the International press picks up on a story like this. Do a google on "stolen donuts" and you'll be offered a big-big bunch of blogs (like this) and editorials and comments about the guy who is risking 30 years for, what they say, is a donut. Reminds about another story a couple years back about some guy in California who because of the three strike rule was going to get life for stealing a pizza.
Folks, you're missing the point. The problem here isn't a pizza or a donut. The problem is stealing. You took something you had no right to, away from its legitimate owner. And you know what? It doesn't matter if that donut belonged to a penniless drunk on the street or to a multibazillion corporation like Pepsi. It's still stealing and it's wrong. And stealing (which he admitted) is why he's going to jail - he's not going to jail because of a donut.
