Fisher House
Here's a way to help some of those who have ended up messed up by the wars going on right now. There's an organization called "The Fisher House" that can use your help. It's set up to help out the families of folks who are in military hospitals. It's a place to stay while they visit. They also help out with travel and other things that the visitors need.
One of the problems of getting wounded in the military is you have no control over the location of your recovery. You got wounded in Afganistan and then medivaced to Germany and transferred to Walter Reed. All the while you may have been based in Kansas where your spouse still is and your parents are back in Mississippi where you were born. Fisher House gives these folks a way to visit you while you're recovering. Take a minute to check out their web site and then send them a few bucks.
